DW Evans GT Duo Dan Wells and Oscar Lee Secure their Seventh Class Victory at Shanghai International Circuit

Yet another successful weekend for the DW Evans GT team where Dan Wells and Oscar Lee
secured podiums in both races and a class victory on Sunday.

Shanghai, China – September 12, 2023 – It was another successful race weekend for the DW Evans
GT team as the racing duo of Dan Wells and Oscar Lee showcased their exceptional skills and unwavering determination at the Shanghai International Circuit. The action-packed weekend saw Wells and Lee climbing the podium several times, finishing the weekend off on the top step with their seventh Pro-Am victory in five rounds.

In Race 1, Dan Wells started from Pro-Am Pole Position, and challenged for the overall lead through the first three corners. A strong defence from Kiwi driver Marco Giltrap saw him maintain the lead, which came down to just a second at the pitstop window. With impeccable precision, the team executed a perfectly timed pit stop where Wells handed the wheel over to his partner, Oscar Lee, who then took the overall lead after the stops. While the competition was fierce, Lee showcased remarkable driving skills in the Prosperity Investment Management-backed Lamborghini. Unfortunately, a late overtaking manoeuvre prevented them from holding onto the class win. However, the duo's outstanding performance secured them a well-deserved P2 in-class and an impressive P3 overall.

Race 2 witnessed an even more impressive display of skill and teamwork as Lee took the Lamborghini Osaka Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2 to the track with renewed vigour. Oscar Lee was nothing short of spectacular, delivering one of his best drives to date. A flawless pit stop from the DW Evans GT team further solidified their chances of success as the baton was handed to Dan Wells.

In a thrilling display of speed and precision, Wells outpaced the race leaders by 2.1 seconds on the best lap on the second stint, relentlessly closing a 19-second gap to a mere 2.7 seconds at the chequered flag. Their remarkable performance in Race 2 culminated in a P1 finish in-class and an impressive P2 overall.

This remarkable weekend at the Shanghai International Circuit marked the seventh class victory this season for Dan Wells and Oscar Lee in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia series. Their consistency and unwavering dedication have been pivotal to their success, and they now set their sights on the final round with confidence and determination.

Round 6 of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia will be held at Italy’s Circuit de Vallelunga on November 16 and 17, as part of the Lamborghini Grand Finals.
