Inje Speedium, 21st August 2023 — In a rollercoaster of events that kept Lamborghini Super Trofeo fans at the edge of their seats, DW Evans GT drivers Dan Wells and Oscar Lee demonstrated their exceptional skill, determination, and teamwork during an exhilarating race weekend at Inje Speedium in Gangwon-do, South Korea. The racing duo experienced both the highs and lows of motorsport competition, culminating in a breathtaking comeback Pro-Am victory in Race 2 of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia.

The race weekend kicked off with Wells showcasing his speed and precision during the qualifying session, being the only drive to enter the 1:36s and securing the overall pole position for Race 1 by 0.9s of a second. Lee showed competitive times in practice on Friday morning and translated that into a strong qualifying session for Race 2, securing P3 in the Pro-Am class and P6 overall. With their Prosperity Investment Management-backed car tuned to perfection and the team's strategy honed, all signs pointed toward a dominant performance in the races to come.

Race one saw Wells sprinting ahead from the very start, firmly maintaining the lead and starting to build a strong gap for the first 3 laps of the race. However, the unexpected mechanical failure of the clutch dashed all hopes of a victorious finish, and forced a retirement on lap 4. Despite the setback, Wells secured the Hankook fastest lap trophy before his retirement.

Undeterred by the challenges faced in the first race, Lee and Wells approached the second race with unwavering determination. The Team's mechanics worked tirelessly to rectify the mechanical issue, and their dedication paid off as Lee took to the track for Race 2 in the Lamborghini Osaka car. Oscar timed his pit entry perfectly just as the pit window opened; the team and the drivers showed a perfect pitstop as Lee handed over the Wells to finish the race.

After the driver changeovers, Wells stormed through the field to P2 and ultimately closed the gap from the overall lead from 25s to just 10s at the flight to secure yet another win in the Pro-Am class and an overall P2, furthering their lead in the Pro-Am championship.

Oscar Lee and Wells lead the Pro-Am class by 16 points as the 2023 season hurtles towards its thrilling climax. The fifth and final Asia-based round of the 2023 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia season follows shortly when the championship returns to the home of Chinese motorsport, the Shanghai International Circuit, from September 8 to 10. Round 6 will be held as part of the Lamborghini Grand Finals at Italy’s Circuit de Vallelunga on November 18 and 19.
