DW Evans GT duo Dan Wells and Oscar Lee put on a dominant performance after penalties to secure their eighth Pro-Am victory and the Pro-Am Championship.

[Vallelunga, 21 November, 2023] — In a thrilling finale to the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia series, DW Evans GT overcame the highs and lows of motorsport to end the season on the top of the podium. The racing team faced adversity early in the race week but demonstrated resilience, securing their eighth class win of the season and making their Pro-Am Championship official.

Qualifying 1 kicked off with a strong performance by Dan Wells, placing the Lamborghini Osaka car in an impressive P3 overall. However, a steward’s decision relegated the team to the back of the grid in the final classification. Undeterred, Oscar Lee showcased his skills in Qualifying 2, securing a P6 overall for the team’s final race of the 2023 season, setting the stage for a competitive showdown.

In Race 1, newly crowned Pro-Am champion Wells charged through the field from the back of the grid, making his way up to fifth before the second lap was complete, and up to third by the time the pit window opened. Wells started the opening race from P16, after picking up a post-qualifying penalty. The second half of the race brought plenty of drama. Oscar Lee, taking the reins from Wells, was soon handed a stop-and-go penalty for a pitstop infringement. Lee crossed the finish line in P2 in-class, and P5 overall.

In Race 2, Oscar Lee had a strong start and was among the first to dive in for the mandatory pit stop, the DW Evans GT driver having gained a position to go fifth. He handed over to Wells, who got to work and was soon in a podium position before blitzing past the field in his Prosperity Investment Management-backed Lamborghini to go second. Wells held onto the position to take the team's eighth Pro-Am win, and P2 overall.
