DW driver Kai Daryanani finished P10 in his Macau Grand Prix debut, making up 11 places during the race.

Hong Kong, 15 November, 2023 — In a remarkable debut at the prestigious Macau Grand Prix, 18-year-old Kai Daryanani showcased exceptional skill and determination as he secured a commendable 10th place finish on Sunday's final race. Kai made his debut in the South-East Asia F4 championship with Pinnacle Motorsport, putting in a strong performance after a tough weekend.

 

The weekend presented its fair share of challenges, with Daryanani facing a shortage of valuable track time during practice sessions due to multiple red flags. Despite the setbacks, the young driver demonstrated resilience and a keen ability to adapt, proving his driving abilities on one of the most demanding circuits in the world.

Qualifying and the subsequent Qualifying Race brought unexpected challenges, forcing Kai Daryanani to retire prematurely in the Qualifying Race and leaving him at the back of the grid for Sunday’s main race. Undeterred, he approached the final race with focus and determination.

 

During the final race Daryanani showcased his true potential by making a stunning comeback, showing incredible overtaking prowess and gaining an impressive 11 positions. Starting P21, Kai crossed the finish line in 10th place, showcasing his racing talent at the prestigious Macau Grand Prix.

 

Reflecting on his performance, Kai Daryanani expressed gratitude for the support from Pinnacle Motorsport and his management, emphasising the significance of overcoming adversity on such a renowned stage: “It was a challenging weekend, but I am thrilled to have made a strong comeback in the final race. The whole weekend was a team effort and I couldn’t have done it without them.”

As Kai Daryanani continues to make strides in his racing career, the historic Macau Grand Prix serves as a milestone in his journey, setting the stage for even greater achievements in the seasons to come.

 

Kai is now focusing on closing out the year with strong performances in Rounds 2 and 3 of the South-East Asia F4 Championship. Both rounds will be held at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia on the 24-26th November and 1-3rd December, respectively.
